"3 o' Clock" - Copyright 2010 Rob Beasley & Daniel Potts

  24/04/10: "3 o' Clock" Animation Film Soundtrack

Recently I was commissioned to compose and record the soundtrack for "3 o' Clock", the forthcoming short animation film by Rob Beasley and Daniel Potts. Combining actual footage, animated textures and frame by frame hand-drawn illustrations, the film tells the story of a man dealing with the five stages of grief over a broken antique clock, whilst also coming to terms with the passing of his wife.

For a film of such emotional content I had to provide an equally emotive soundtrack, composing an acoustic instrumental piece which employed the additional cello playing talents of Tom Parnell (of Oxford alternative/folk duo Cogwheel Dogs). Tom's cello part really completed the track, the guitar and cello perfectly complementing each other to create a beautiful piece of which I am immensely proud.

Overall the film promises to be a visually stunning piece of work, and it has been a huge privilege to be a part of such an artistic project.

The track is available to stream and download on iTunes, Spotify and Bandcamp.
