Bio:
Ryan Robinson is a guitarist, session musician and composer based in Oxfordshire, UK.
With ten years' guitar experience, and a significant performance history (including such venues as O2 Shepherd's Bush Empire), Ryan is a good fit for a wide variety of session roles. A versatile player, he can compose for and play in a range of styles and genres as needed. In particular, he specialises in groove-based styles such as funk, smooth jazz, rock, and in creating unorthodox sounds and textures with the use of effects pedals.
His direct practical experience is supported by qualification: he was the first student to ever be awarded a triple distinction on the BTEC National Diploma in Popular Music Performance. Following this, he committed to three years of further study, and has recently graduated from a BMus degree at Tech Music School (London College of Music).
In addition he has experience working as a studio session musician, has composed for media, and works as a solo artist.
Currently, Ryan is performing live regularly with a variety of acts, working as a session player, and as a private guitar teacher in the Oxfordshire area. He is also currently writing material for a brand new jazz/funk project ‘Slickstream’, as well as continuing to compose and record in a solo capacity.
